Program Description

Modern Day 3D-Printed Lamps

This two-part program will begin with a brief introduction to Tinkercad, a program that the teens will use to design a lampshade that can be customized in shape, size, and design. Each participant will then attach their lampshade to a 3D-printed rod and base.

In part two of the program (meets from 6-8pm on Monday, April 22), each teen will put together their lamp using a charging board, 2 LED lights, wires, a switch, and a battery. As this project requires some soldering, the teens will learn to solder wires together.

The program will take place in the library's Computer Lab. Laptops will be provided.

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk on the library's second floor to register in person. Please do not register for this program unless you are available to attend both sessions.
