Allowed Grades: Kindergarten to 5th Grade

This program pairs trained and certified therapy dogs with children in Grades K-5 who want to practice reading aloud.

On the night that the program meets, there will be 4 time slots available for kids to meet and read to a pup on the patio:

  • 6-6:10pm
  • 6:15-6:25pm
  • 6:30-6:40pm
  • 6:45-6:55pm

In the case of inclement weather, this program will be held in the Story Room. 

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6155, or by visiting the Children's Services Desk at the Library and registering in person. Miss Alex will personally email those who register to assign them a time slot and introduce them to the dog they'll be meeting!
