Program Description

Pride in the Park

Join the Bloomington and Normal Public Libraries at the Miller Park Bandstand for an afternoon of fun as we celebrate National Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ community.

  • The libraries will offer crafts for children and teens, a story time, and more.
  • Members from the local PFLAG chapter and the Prairie Pride Coalition will be on hand to provide information.
  • The following organizations will also be present:
    • Joe Chianakas - queer local author of Singlets and Secrets 
    • Bobzbay
    • BJHS Pride
    • Unitarian Universalist Church
    • Central Illinois (CI) Friends
    • Red Raccoon Games
    • New Covenant Community
    • Bay Area Mexicana Food truck 
    • ISU Police and Sage, the police dog
    • Bloomington Police Department
    • Normal Police Department

Bring chairs or a blanket and consider packing a picnic or buying lunch from a food truck to round out this fun afternoon! 

Crafts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
