April is National Poetry Month! Help us celebrate by creating your very own haiku to add to our poetree display in the Children's Department!
A traditional haiku is a three-line poem, usually about nature, with a total of 17 syllables. The first line includes 5 syllables, the second line includes 7 syllables, and the third line includes 5 syllables.
You can play with the subject and form to create your very own version of a haiku, or write any type of poem. Give your creation to the librarian at the Children's Desk during any of the library's open hours, and we'll get it added to the display!
Happy writing!
