Program Description

Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Rights for Women

Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought for equal rights for women for more than 50 years. Upon her death in 1902, she left behind a legacy of crusading for female equality and a myriad of writings that continue to inspire feminists today. Visit with Mrs. Stanton herself, joining us from 1866, after the Civil War was over but the battle for Women’s Suffrage was just beginning.

Librarian and actress Laura Keyes will portray Elizabeth Cady Stanton in this informative and inspiring presentation.

Keyes graduated from UW-Madison with a Master’s Degree in Library Studies and is a lifetime member of the Association of Lincoln Presenters. She recently won the Excellence in Performing Award from that Association.
