Program Description

Teen Craftivism will meet monthly in March, April, and May. During Craftivism, teens will learn a new craft and the history behind it, focusing on both historical and modern uses of arts and crafts. From quilt codes leading the way to freedom to modern ecological warriors “bombing” barren cityscapes with wildflower seeds, arts and crafts have a long legacy of being used to convey a message.

Monthly crafts for March through May are as follows:

  • Monday, March 10: Book page flowers
  • Monday, April 7: Book page blackout poetry
  • Monday, May 5: Seed bombs

Registration is required and can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk at the Library and registering in person.

Questions about this program can be emailed to Cora at reference@bloomingtonlibrary.org.

Hearing Device Assistance

To accommodate hard-of-hearing patrons, the library offers the use of assistive listening devices in each Community Room and in each Children’s Program Room. For these devices to work, the presenter must use the room’s sound system. For the clearest sound, make sure the device is unobstructed by clothing or jewelry and sit in the first few rows.
If you experience connectivity issues, please let a staff member know. A guide on using the assistive listening devices is available.
