Program Description
This program is part of Bloomington Reads, a community reading program series which encourages people to read and talk about the same book or, in 2024, the same topic.
---
Capsized! The Forgotten Story of the SS Eastland Disaster is an engaging book for older children. Author Patricia Sutton will discuss her book and ponder why the Eastland Disaster is relatively unknown today though the disaster claimed the lives of 844 people.
Upper elementary school-aged children and tweens/teens are encouraged to attend this event with their adults.
Check out a copy of this book in print or borrow it through Hoopla if you wish to read it before the presentation.
Registration is required for those who wish to attend virtually via Zoom and can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Children's Desk on Floor 1 or the Help Desk on Floor 2 at the Library.
Questions about this program can be emailed to Allison at reference@bloomingtonlibrary.org.
