Program Description

The leading cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. Learning to STOP THE BLEED® is a lifesaving skill. With 3 quick actions, you can be trained and empowered to save a life. The person next to a bleeding victim may very well be the one who’s most likely to save him or her from bleeding to death. By learning how to STOP THE BLEED®, you’ll gain the ability to recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control bleeding.

This class will be presented by Carle BroMenn Emergency Department Staff and will combine lecture with hands-on practice to teach you how to be an effective first responder and to help stop the bleeding of a severely injured person.

Registration is required and can be completed below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk on the Library's second floor.

Questions about this program can be emailed to Marcie at reference@bloomingtonlibrary.org.

Hearing Device Assistance

To accommodate hard-of-hearing patrons, the library offers the use of assistive listening devices in each Community Room and in each Children’s Program Room. For these devices to work, the presenter must use the room’s sound system. For the clearest sound, make sure the device is unobstructed by clothing or jewelry and sit in the first few rows.
If you experience connectivity issues, please let a staff member know. A guide on using the assistive listening devices is available.
