  • This event is for registrants grade Kindergarten to 5th Grade.

This program, which takes place at the Humane Society of Central Illinois in Normal, pairs children in grades K-5 with shelter animals to practice reading aloud.

Library staff will be at the Humane Society from 1-3pm. There will be 8 time slots for kids to meet and read to a shelter animal:

  • 1:00 - 1:10
  • 1:15 - 1:25
  • 1:30 - 1:40
  • 1:45 - 1:55
  • 2:00 - 2:10
  • 2:15 - 2:25
  • 2:30 - 2:40
  • 2:45 - 2:55

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6155, or by visiting the Children's Services Desk at the Library and registering in person. Mr. Cody will email those who register to assign them a time slot!

The Humane Society is located at 423 Kays Drive in Normal.
