Program Description

PixilArt is a cloud-based software which registered teens will use to learn about making sprites and GIFS for game design, programming, and other projects. Pixel art, a form of digital art, was originally used in early video games, and uses pixels -- defined as dots and squares that form an image when put together on a computer screen. Hex colors, pixel sizing, and other concepts related to digital art will be discussed.

This software was introduced in a previous BPL program, where the basics of drawing in PixilArt were introduced. Students who are new to the software will receive a link to the previous program's materials so they can review before class begins. Registrants will also need to create an account at PixilArt.com.

Registration is required and is limited to 15 teens. Registration will open at 9am on Monday, May 9, and can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or in person at the Adult Services Desk. Questions regarding registration can be emailed to techprogramming@bloomingtonlibrary.org.

The program will take place virtually over Zoom.
