Bloomington Library adds Sensory Story Time and Sensory Bags
Bloomington Public Library has added Sensory Story Time to its story time lineup. The library's Sensory Story Time invites children of all ages and all abilities to engage their senses with specialized stories, music, and activities. During each Sensory Story Time, some time will be reserved for sensory play and socialization for children with autism or other special needs. Caretakers, siblings, and children of all abilities are encouraged to attend.
The library has also added Sensory Bags to its offerings at the Children's Desk, thanks to a donation from Autism McLean. If any patron with a Sensory Processing Disorder or any type of sensory sensitivity becomes overstimulated while at the Library, they will be able the use the items in the bag to soothe and refocus.
Visit the library's website or pick up a Story Time handout at the library for more information about story times being offered at Bloomington Public Library this summer.
