Tax assistance will be available on on most Mondays*, Tuesdays*, and Thursdays* from February 2 through April 17. On these dates, volunteers from AARP Tax-Aide will assist people from 9:15am-1pm. In order to insure volunteers are done completing returns by 1pm, no return will be started after 12:15pm.
Those seeking assistance should bring their W-2, social security card, social security statements and tax forms to the Community Room. A social security card or statement is required for anyone whose name appears on the tax return. There are no age nor income restrictions to receive aid. Help is provided first-come-first-served.
*No Tax-Aide on Monday Feb. 20; Tuesday Feb. 28; Monday Mar 27; or Thursday, Apr. 13.
The best, cheapest and easiest method to receive paper copies of tax forms and instructions is to call the IRS and have them mailed directly to your home. The number is 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676).
If you need to print your tax forms at the library, the Adult Services department has Internet computers available on a walk up/first-come, first-served basis. Printing costs 15 cents per page.
